Early MG42 leather sling 'gyb 1942'

A very nice original brown leather sling for the MG42. Clearly dated 1942, this example is therefore one of the very first of its type to have been produced for the new MG! The maker code above is 'gyb', indicating manufacture by Bauer, Wilhelm, Friedr., G.m.b.H., Lederwarenfabrik, Offenbach.
 
This particular one also has the Waffeamt marked attachment clasp, and the leather still remains both strong and supple throughout. 
 
Please note that since this is the mid-late war version, with the wider rear attachment buckle, that this example will fit the MG42 as well as the earlier MG34.
