MG34/42 P-Kasten 'brc' 'SMG'

A scarce and totally untouched P-kasten or Petroleum-kasten for the MG34/42 in original factory tan paint from 1943/44.
Repurposed from a standard ammunition can, it has the 'P' marking applied to designate that this box once held two oil canisters inside for lubrication of the MG34/42.
In addition, this particular example was also marked to the lid with the code 'SMG' - for Schwere Machinengewehr - and so would have been linked to an MG34/42 mounted on the heavy Lafette tripod!
