Named M40 Kriegsmarine two-tone camo helmet 'ET64'
An absolutely stunning example of an M40 combat helmet finished in a very appealing, hand-applied two-tone red/brown camouflage scheme!
Internally the helmet still retains the original 1940 factory-applied field grey/green paint finish, along with the original factory fitted liner & 1940 dated chinstrap. The rear skirt is also visibly inscribed with the name "Brink", as shown.
The helmet comes exactly as it was found; having come from the estate of a British veteran with an overpainted Kriegsmarine decal. The factory-applied decal clearly being painted around when the camouflage finish was applied. This could then have likely been overpainted as a result of flaking, very typical with KM decals, and indeed done during the period.
KM coastal troops typically had the more elaborate camo schemes, such as this, due to the amount of available time they had to complete them…
A true so-called 'one looker' original camo helmet, in one of the most attractive schemes we have ever yet to come across - and one where you will never have to worry about the authenticity of the camouflage finish!
