Panzer recognition model: M3 Stuart

Panzer recognition model: M3 Stuart

£0.00Price

A stunning and extremely rare original, early period model as produced for and used by German Panzertruppe for the purposes of training / recognition of both friendly and enemy armoured vehicles.

The particular example on offer here is that of the Allied M3 Stuart. Produced mainly from wood, but with some metal parts, such as for the fenders and guns; this model most likely originates from a Panzerschule (tank school) setting as opposed to the paper models issued for construction in the field to aid ongoing recognition (see last photo).

Somewhat ironically, it features the typical German style grey/brown camouflage scheme that was used widely during the early-war period, with Allied ID insignia also prominently applied.

The model is of large scale - it is photographed alongside a 1:32 scale Tiger I for reference purposes - and aside from a number of missing wooden track links etc, somewhat incredibly remains about 95%+ complete!

The turret can be both rotated and removed, with canvas tracks also able to be turned.

Other examples of identical construction, albeit depicting various other tanks, can be found in online resources - including a Crusader I recognition model within the collection of the Bovington Tank Museum.

An incredibly charming item with real character that makes for a fantastically unique display and talking piece! Very seldom seen in any condition at all, yet alone this complete and untouched!
