Straight shovel set 'obp 1944'

A nice late-war example of the German straight handled entrenching tool. The shovel itself is maker coded and dated 'opb 1944' to indicate production by Carl Krampe Wwe., Rummenohl (Westf.).
The shovel also comes complete with its original Presstoff carrier, which has been repaired at some point to one of the belt loops and the retaining strap. Nevertheless, this doesn't detract from the piece and the carrier is clearly maker marked 'dtv' for manufacture by C. Otto Gehrckens, Leder- u. Riemenwerke, Pinneberg, along with the associated Waffenamt stamp. A good late-war combat set!
