An appealing example of the mid to late-war Kriegsmarine issue Zeiss 7x50 'gas ocular' binoculars that certainly didn't sit out on the action!
This variant was issued to coastal troops, those stationed aboard surface vessels and also U-Boats etc.
Despite extensive use, this set comes complete with its original factory-fitted Bakelite 'Benutzer' ocular guard still attached!
Even the original rubber eyepieces, designed to be used in conjunction with a gas mask, remain in very good shape indeed.
The Carl Zeiss Jena 'blc' maker code and serial number are marked to the right-hand prism plate.
Indeed, such is the quality of wartime Zeiss optics, the coated lens optics even still continue to produce a very good usable image!
