Zeiss 7x50 Kriegsmarine U-boat binoculars
A very scarce, untouched early-war variant of the Kriegsmarine 7x50 U-boat binoculars, with the englarged adjustable oculars.
This is a distinctive variant that is identical to that which can be seen in period photos; slung around the neck of U-boat ace Korvettenkapitän Reinhard Hardegen, aboard U-123, as shown.
This pair come direct from a small collection of such optics out of Scotland, UK. More than likely originating from the numerous U-boats stored there and subsequently destroyed as part of Operation Deadlight.
They are very nicely inscribed with the Carl Zeiss Jena maker's logo, as well as retaining fully intact KM and Nordsee 'N' property markings. The 'T' designation for coated lenses is also present.
The view through the optics still produces a very nice bright and clear image! The focus is also very smooth on both sides - making them a great binocular to use.
Clearly also a pair that have never been opened - and even still fitted with the original KM marked leather neck strap.
One that's not to be missed for any collectors of U-boat related items or optics!
