Zeiss 7x50 Kriegsmarine U-boat binoculars
A scarce early-war variant of the Kriegsmarine 7x50 U-boat binoculars, with the enlarged adjustable oculars.
This is a distinctive variant that is identical to that which can be seen in period photos; such as being slung around the neck of U-boat ace Korvettenkapitän Reinhard Hardegen, aboard U-123, as shown.
This pair appear to have at some stage been refinished externally; and internally one of the prism housings has become detached to come loose inside.
Yet, they remain very nicely inscribed with the Carl Zeiss Jena maker's logo, as well as retaining fully intact KM and Nordsee 'N' property markings. The 'T' designation for coated lenses is also present.
A good, displayable pair that would also form a great basis for an optical restoration project if so desired!
